partyU: Coming to a party near U
October 27, 2010

Would you like to put your school’s college atmosphere "on the map?" Would you like to be recognized and receive prizes for having a good time? Well, if you have answered in the affirmative to the prior two questions, partyU is here to help!
partyU started as an idea in 2008, when a group of Clarion University students thought it would be fun to rate the social atmosphere and nightlife of surrounding universities. Today, that idea has turned into a website and a traveling tour. The objective of partyU is to enhance the college experience for students. Essentially each college’s atmosphere and party scene will be treated as a "college sport" by partyU. Schools will be ranked on their campus atmosphere, school spirit, nightlife, tradition, setting and overall "feel". After visiting the school, ratings of the school will be posted to the partyU website (thisispartyu.com) each week.
Other organizations have tried to rank the top "party" schools in the country (Playboy magazine & Princeton Review). However, they have done nothing like partyU plans to do. They will not be issuing surveys and/or questionnaires like others have done in the past. These criterion do not provide an effective tool to measure a college atmosphere. partyU and the “Union” will be live on location, taking in all aspects first hand and allowing the students voices and actions to be heard. partyU will be traveling to several colleges and universities on a request basis. partyU plans on making as many feasible stops as possible.
The top ranked schools will receive notable recognition and awards throughout the "College Invasion Tour". Schools will also be recognized in a top 25 ranking system, similar to the collegiate football and basketball ranking system. In the future, partyU also plans to implement a 64-school bracket, having schools compete against each other week after week until the "partyU National Champion" is crowned. partyU plans crown the winning school at a party, thrown by partyU, in their town and hope to be accompanied by a performer along the way.
As you see, the original idea of partyU has expanded and diversified to a new level of fun and excitement. College students deserve to know just how their school compares to others across the country, as well as being a part of it. In essence, the students are now able to control their school’s destiny, while having a great time in the process. There is no more missing out on the party scene with partyU. Because without U, there is no party.
